Children Can't Solve Everything.

These past few weeks my emotions have been everywhere. I was so nervous and anxious to make my blog public. I couldn’t figure out why starting a dream of mine was causing me mixed emotions. It only took an hour of adoration for me to realize that I am in-between.

Much like the seasons, with time, comes change. When we face this change we become uncomfortable with ourselves, caught in the in-between. For a moment we feel bare. Naked. Exposed. We do not feel as if we are ourselves, but that’s because we are becoming ourselves. We go back to our old ways to feel comfortable, yet we rarely try out the new ways. The new is confusing, and it seems so out of reach. It is hard to realize that the new is only seconds away from the present. On the other hand, people try something so far away from who they are. They try to solve these questions of the future themselves. However, someone great told me “You can’t solve everything.”

It’s hard to comprehend that you can’t figure out everything because we were blessed with the gift of curiosity. Here’s something you don’t think of often. Maybe you are directing that curiosity in the wrong places. Our curiosity is to discover how we are uniquely made to serve as God’s children. Notice how I said, children. You are a child. Children aren’t capable of solving everything. Read it again. Children aren’t capable of solving everything. In a homily I heard recently, the priest quoted a verse from The Bible. Matthew 19:14 says, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” A child relies on his parent when he feels discomfort. A child basks in joy. A child grows.

Become more childlike, so the in-between isn’t uncomfortable, instead, it is exciting.
