Don’t ever tell me this isn’t a life. I felt their hearts stop beating in my own hands, in my own body. Don’t ever speak of life starting on the outside. They were designed for a purpose. Believe in God, or believe in nothing. A life is a life. It starts the moment the egg is fertilized. I know nothing much of science, but you don’t need science to see growth. So many people want to save animals, trees, our air, our government, but what about starting with the fragile lives of the unborn. It hurts to see that no one has stopped abortions completely. It is sickening. I’m not usually an angry writer, but today I am. I hurt to know that people choose to kill what I would die to have again. My children had a loving mother to rest in, but they couldn’t stay in my arms. But, people who decided that they weren’t going to give their child any arms to be in, hurts. Adoption. Foster care. A trusted loved one. Government money. It isn’t impossible to give a child life. And I get it some children aren’t formed out of love- it was rape. It wasn’t their choice. But, the instant you have a child in your stomach, choice or not, you share your body. The gift of pregnancy shouldn’t be abolished because of someone else’s mistake. Take their mistake and make it your greatest blessing.

Now, as a Catholic, I find it reasonable to speak on behalf of my faith. In adoration, I discovered my new favorite reference book, Catechism of the Catholic Church. I found logic, reasoning, inspiration, and so much more on the papers that filled this book. As I read through the Catholic church’s teaching, I jotted down a few quotes that helped me understand why we should respect life.
The right of a human's life is before birth. Life begins at fertilization. As it is written in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, “These rights are prior to society and must be recognized by it.” However, our society fails to recognize the logic behind humanity.“If it does not respect them, authority can rely only on force or violence to obtain obedience from its subjects” Catechism. This explains the reason behind peaceful marches all the way to violent riots. Our society is ignoring the purpose behind protecting life, so we fight, disagree, or choose violence.
Whether we are faced with an unplanned pregnancy, rioters against pro-life, or even just a discussion at the dinner table, we must choose to side with life, because of human nature.
“In 2019, 629,898 legal induced abortions were reported to CDC from 49 reporting areas.” Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
629,898 babies. Wow.
A population of 216,328 was recorded for Baton Rouge, Louisiana. World Population Review
Imagine Baton Rouge, the second-largest city in Louisiana. Now, multiply it by three. That’s about how many babies were killed in that one year at the hands of abortion.
Help stop these shocking, nearly hidden, numbers from increasing. Stop the murders. Share your opinions, your story, and your choice. Choose life.
This is merely an explanation to bring awareness to the unborn, the ones who can’t speak for themselves.
Below is a link to an animation of fetal growth. Keep in mind that abortions can be performed up to 24 weeks, legally. Take a look at this site to understand the world of a growing baby.
