St. Elizabeth said
“Suffering is a string that produces still more beautiful sounds.”
However, we question it.
How could struggle create beauty?
Struggle seems harmful, dangerous, and even messy. We despise this struggle, doing everything we possibly can to avoid it. All because we fear it.
We face struggle each day in school, work, fitness, marriage, family, and even faith. So, if we fear struggle each day, we live our lives in fear.
Begin to look at struggle as a challenge. Your life is beautifully challenging.
Maybe you aren’t motivated to face that challenge. Then, I ask you this
Where are you trying to thrive? Is your challenge suitable to your goals?
In a homily we learned an important verb, refocus.
If you aren’t motivated, refocus. The priest said, “we are restless because God needs our attention.”
Your restlessness in the challenge may be because you are called to something new, a different adventure. How exciting?!
Let God use you as an instrument of his faith. Being an instrument of his faith is how beauty comes from struggle.
See what ways to play your song. Your story can be a beautiful melody if you are an instrument for God.
Allow him to use you with his grace and presence.
God winks. Places his hands on your shoulders. Nudges. Feel his presence in your struggles, and remember that your story is beautifully challenging.
